Pilots cited in Air France crash report
Update: 18:06, Friday, Jul 06,2012 (GMT+7)
French Accident Investigation Bureau’s (BEA) has released final conclusion in a report about 2009 Air France crash, said that pilot error, combined with technical faults, caused the accident.

As previous investigations, BEA found that faulty speed sensors had caused confusion in the cockpit which lead to incorrect action then total loss control of the situation. Air France has since replaced the speed sensors on its aircraft.

In response to the report, Air France defended its pilots, saying they “acted in line with the information provided by the cockpit instruments and systems”.

Formerly, on 1 June 2009, the Airbus A330 AF447 from Rio de Janeiro to Paris experienced a storm over the Atlantic, off the northeast coast of Brazil. It is believed that having frozen over, the aircraft’s speed sensors gave incorrect readings, then send it to a dive.

All 228 including 12 crew and 216 passengers from 32 nationalities lost their lives.
