Qatar Airways to fly A380 to Bangkok
Update: 13:03, Saturday, Oct 25,2014 (GMT+7)
Bangkok will become the first destination in Asia Pacific to welcome Qatar Airways’ Airbus A380 aircraft.

The 517-seat double-decker jet will be deployed on one of the airline’s four daily Doha-Bangkok services from 5 January 2015. This will make Thailand’s capital city the third global destination in Qatar Airways’ A380 network, following London and Paris.

“Bangkok is one of the most popular destinations for travellers around the world,” stated Qatar Airways’ CEO, Akbar Al Baker. “Thanks to its popularity we have witnessed a steady growth in terms of the number of passengers flying to Bangkok over the years. Additionally, the number of Thai passengers who travel with us to destinations around the world has also increased significantly. Therefore, we are very much looking forward to kicking off the new year by introducing our new A380 aircraft to Bangkok and providing these passengers with our signature service,” he added.

Qatar Airways’ A380 features 517 seats in three classes – eight in first class, 48 in business class and 461 in economy. The upper deck of the aircraft also features a lounge area for premium passengers, while Wi-Fi will be available in all cabins.

The outbound A380 service will operate as flight QR836, leaving Doha’s new Hamad International Airport at 0155 and arriving at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport at 1210. The return service, QR833, will then depart the Thai capital at 2045, getting back into Doha at 2355.

The A380 will replace the Boeing 777-300ER aircraft that currently operates these flights.
