The new Kuala Lumpur-Dubai service took off on Monday 5 August 2013, and will now operate daily using a two-class, 282-seat Boeing 777-200 aircraft. Flights depart KLIA at 2330, arriving at Dubai International Airport at 0220 the following morning. The return flight departs Dubai at 0410, getting back into KL at 1525.
“We see great potential in Dubai… [as] a tourism, trade and logistics hub,” said MAS’ commercial director, Dr Hugh Noel Dunleavy. “As we expand our network we want to prepare our products and services to serve our guests better each time they fly us. Our focus is ultimately customer satisfaction.”
MAS cancelled its flights to Dubai in early 2012 as part of a major cost-cutting programme that also included the scrapping of flights to Rome, Buenos Aires, Johannesburg, Cape Town and Karachi.
This year however, it has been gradually adding new flights, including services to Kathmandu, Kochi and Darwin.
