A
30-million-Euro nonstop single cable car in Vietnam’s central city of
Da Nang will become the world’s new longest and highest when it is put
into operation this March.
|
The third cable car at Ba Na Hills – a
resort some 25 kilometers from Da Nang’s city center – is expected to
break the records set by the first one, which was built in 2009, and
then recognized by Guinness World Records.
According to the news report, the latest cable car will be 5,771.61 meters long and 1,368.93 meters high.
It
is designed to have 86 cabins able to transport 1,500 passengers per
hour between the foot of Ba Na Mountain and its top, where the resort is
located at a height of 1,489 meters above sea level.
The first
cable car runs from the mountain’s foot to neighboring Vong Nguyet
Mountain, and the second from Vong Nguyet to the top of Chua Mountain,
with the length of 700 meters.
The system of cable cars is being
funded by the Ba Na Cable Car Service Joint Stock Company and built by
the Doppelmayr Cable Car Company based in Austria in accordance with
international standards.
