Update: 12:26, Saturday, Sep 29,2012 (GMT+7)
According to the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, the number of foreign visitors to the country touched 460,000 in September, a 62 percent increase year-on-year.

In the first nine months of this year, Vietnam recorded more than 4.85 million foreign visitors, up by 23 percent compared to the same period last year.

Of these, Ho Chi Minh City received about 2.72 million visitors from abroad, accounting to 56 percent of the total number of foreign visitors to the country in the first nine months.

Although this was not peak tourist season, the number of foreign visitors still increased, thanks to the International Travel Expo which took place from September 13-15 in HCMC.
