Vietnam to boost tourism co-operation with APEC countries

Vietnamese tourism officials attending the 7th APEC Tourism Ministerial Meeting, worked with their counterparts to further tourism co-operation.

The 7th APEC Tourism Ministerial Meeting was held on July 23-27 in Khabarovsk City, Russia.

The Vietnamese delegation, led by Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ho Anh Tuan, worked with representatives from Russian’s tourism agencies to enhance their tourism cooperation.


The delegation also met South Korean Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism and asked for South Korea’s support for the establishment of a Vietnamese tourism representative office in Seoul in 2013.

Vietnam asked the Australian delegation's support to hold a tourism promotion fair scheduled to take place in Sydney and Melbourne in October 2012.

The meeting also backed Vietnam’s proposal to develop sustainable tourism.
