Vietnam Airlines to stop operating Fokker70
Update: 20:44, Monday, Aug 13,2012 (GMT+7)
Vietnam Airlines General Director Pham Ngoc Minh said due to the fleet renovation plan to improve service quality, it will stop the operation of the older generation Fokker70 aircraft in 2013.

The 79 seats Fokker 70s of Vietnam Airlines currently serve routes from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to the central highland provinces such as Buon Ma Thuot, Gia Lai...

Seeing the market growth not as predicted, Vietnam Airlines was in talks to adjust the aircraft delivery plan. Accordingly, in 2013, the airline will operate 84 aircrafts - 10 units over this year. Specifically, VNA will have 10 Boeing 777s, 9 Airbus A330s, 45 Airbus A321s, 6 Airbus A320s, 14 ATR72s and 5 Fokker70s under services.

In the following year, VNA estimated capacity would increase 15.1% to carry up to 16.5 million passengers. The airline will also strive for further enhancement of load factor to 77%, climb 0.6 points compared to 2012.
