Turkish Airlines has placed an order for 15 new Airbus A330-300s
Update: 16:30, Thursday, Oct 11,2012 (GMT+7)
The deal, which is worth US$3.3 billion at current list prices, marks the airline’s seventh A330 order and will almost double Turkish’s fleet of A330s from 17 to 32 aircraft.

The A330s, which are expected to be delivered from 2014 to 2016, will be operated on medium- and long-haul routes from Istanbul’s Ataturk International Airport.

“The efficiency, reliability and passenger appeal of our in-service A330s make them a cornerstone of the Turkish Airlines medium- and long-haul operations” said Dr Temel Kotil, CEO of Turkish Airlines. “The new order will allow us to continue our strategy of growth and fleet renewal with an aircraft we know to be both reliable and profitable.”

Turkish currently operates 17 A330s

Turkish currently fits its A330-300s with 289 seats in two classes.
